CLUB CAPTAINS
2007-2008
The selection of
Club Captains for the 2007-2008 season has been one of the most
difficult in recent years. Sadly, the committee could choose only
four individuals. However, the unsuccessful candidates should feel
proud of their efforts. We very much appreciate their dedication to
our club.
Criteria
for club captains was as follows. The applicants should:
 |
Be
in year 6 (aged 11) or older |
 |
Be
established and dedicated club members |
 |
Be
willing to help out and assist on club nights
|
 |
Be
a good role model in and out of the pool
|
 |
Be able to fulfill their
duties for the entire season
|
 |
Be
a positive and loyal club member |
 |
Wear a club shirt whenever at Club or carnivals
|
There
is no limit on the number of times a person can be selected for a
Captaincy position. (ie Persons can be selected as Captain or Vice
Captain in consecutive years).
Not
all of our applicants met every single criteria but all nominees
were of a high quality, offering wonderful attributes to Bellbowrie
Swimming Club.
After
considerable consideration, the committee carried out a secret
ballot and a decision was finally reached. The Bellbowrie Swimming
Club Captains for 2007-2008 are:

L to R:
Kaitlin Martin, James Sullivan, Laura Evans & Rachel Thompson
CAPTAIN
- James Sullivan
James has been
a member of Bellbowrie Swimming Club since the 2004/2005 season.
James at 12, is one of the club’s oldest male members. Always
willing to pitch in and help out with setting up, packing up and
marshalling, James is always positive in his encouragement of others
and consistently demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship. As club
captain last season, James provided an admirable role model for
others to emulate and has regularly represented the club at
carnivals during his time as a member. A keen and enthusiastic
member, James never misses a club night or championships day.
James’ drive to better his PB’s saw him rewarded with both Club
Champion and Distance Champion last season.
CAPTAIN
- Laura Evans
Laura became a
member of Bellbowrie Swimming Club in the 2006/2007 season. She is
one of the club’s ‘veterans’ at age 13. Laura
is a dedicated
swimmer and always provides a valuable role model to the club’s
younger swimmers. She is consistently heard positively encouraging
other swimmers and is always happy to help out with the 15m races.
Regularly attending club nights and being the fastest swimmer at the
club, Laura provides a wonderful role model for our younger members
to aspire to.
VICE
CAPTAIN - Kaitlin Martin
At
age 11, Kailtin has been a dedicated member of the club since the
2003/2004 season. In her time at the club, she has rarely missed a
club night and has always competed at club championships. Kaitlin
regularly represents the club at carnivals and helps out with
setting up and packing up on club nights.
VICE
CAPTAIN - Rachel Thompson
Joining the
club in 2005/2006, Rachel was elected club vice-captain last
season. From her position last year, Rachel has gained plenty of
experience in helping out with club nights and encouraging other
club members. At age 12, Rachel can also be seen regularly swimming
on club nights and championship days.
